| 3rd Situation - City
Naive and unprepared for what he is going to face, the countryman arrives in the city. His „counstryside“ values and interests clash with those from the city. He feels like a non-being, like a piece of an engine, like a number. The rural exodus creates an impact on the urban environment with the appearance of more slums and more constructions in the outskirts of the cities, the marginalization of the individual and the impossibility of some sort of urban planning. The countryman comes to the city in search of an education, of work. But since he usually has no prior education, the only job he gets is one that does not pay enough to provide for his family subsistence. After a while, when he familiarize the new country, mentality and language, he get the chance to have a good life. |
